This past weekend, PAE had the pleasure of attending FanExpo Portland, a fandom convention in the great city of Portland, Oregon! The attendees were a cross-section of pop culture celebrity worshipers and anime enthusiasts, with a small contingency of comic artists and collectors. We spent the weekend talking with fellow collectors, showcasing posters, and educating the community about our favorite hobby. This was the first time PAE participated in a convention that was not specifically poster related, and we are pleased that we were able to introduce a new audience to the world of concert posters.
We were stationed alongside our friends from GoCollect, who were showcasing and selling posters from the Ultrasounds Collection, an extensive collection of Pacific Northwest concert posters from the late 1970s through the early 2000s. These posters were primarily designed by Mike King, perhaps the most prolific concert poster artist of all time. King grew up in Portland, and his impact on the city’s concert poster scene cannot be overstated. He returned home to Portland for FanExpo and spent the weekend signing posters for fans and releasing his astounding and colossal Mystery Box! Read more about the Ultrasounds Collection HERE!
We look forward to continuing to attend these types of events in the future! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and spoke with us over the weekend. We enjoy every opportunity we are given to be able to connect with other poster and music freaks. See you at the next one!
